IRC2380i Copy Quality issue

Hey all,

have a bit of an odd one.

I suspect the Reader control board but I may aswell get the oppinion of you guys

issue:

Copies are comming out darker/off colour when they are copied, scanning and printing are spot on.

thus far:

All data has been initalised and re-applied

CIS has been swapped out (apropriate alteration ins SM have been done) which had no effect so orriginal CIS is back in the machine (and settings re-applied)

Auto Gradations have no effect on output

Firmware is updated to latest versions and has been overwritten

white refrence plate is clean



any suggestions?

Reader Input Image Processing

1-image data (RGB data) collected by the CCD is processed by the main controller PCB (sub SJ-A, sub R-A,
sub PDRM-PE-A).
2-Main Controller processes the image data arriving from the reader unit for output to the printer unit.


Remove those PCB's> clean & re-seat them/

Hi teckat,

thanks for the publication, it's an outside shot on the basis of no errors but it's worth a try.

I'll try cleaning/reseating them when I next have access to the customer site.

Did you perform all the shading and white plate adjustments when you changed the cis? Is your copy board glass identification numbers entered properly in service mode?

as I suspected, Reader control PCB in the end.

Gotta try the adjustments before you change parts though. I'm assuming most of you guys have to deal with metrics and all that other bullshit that's a sign of a dying company.
