Canon IR 5075 Legal Paper Cutting

I'm currently experiencing some difficulties with my Canon IR 5075 its scanning Legal paper Normally but when it prints out half of the image on the legal paper its cut sometimes half way most of the times it cuts the image when ever it prints out Please help me

'Long Strip Original' will automatically rotate the scanned originals during the scanning process when push scanning via Universal Send. To enable the 'Long Strip Original' option, follow these steps:
1. On the copier control panel, select the Send tab.
2. Pull down the 'Scan Settings' drop down menu and select 'Option'.
3. Press the 'Document Size Select' button on the resulting Scan Settings screen.

4. Press the 'Long Strip Original' button. The size will automatically switch to 'Auto'. The feature is enabled when the option is highlighted in blue.

5. Press 'Done'.
6. Press 'OK'.
7. Select your destination and send the job by pressing the Start key.
8. The resulting image will be automatically rotated.

* Note - Be sure to load your originals with the bottom short edge going into the feeder (see below). If you load your originals the other way, the resulting image will be portrait but upside down.

Long mode originals will not work in duplex, fyi

Okay thats why im not finding the send tab, also scan setting i cant seem to find these

IN SERVICE MODE LEVEL 2
COPIER > OPTION >USER>MF-LG-ST= SET TO "1" > Use it to set the Extra Length key.


did i miss something ?

+ now u talk about missing SEND TAB & Scan Settings

1. Enter Service Mode (press Additional Functions, 2 and 8 simultaneously, then Additional Functions).
2. Enter Level 2 of Service Mode (press Additional Functions, then 2).
3. Select Copier > Option > Body > UI-RSCAN.
4. Set UI-RSCAN to 1 to display the Scan tab

1-Check / Re-seat the power connector for the Reader Unit.


2-Check / Re-seat the interface connections.

Yeah sir followed every step an still the scan tab has not appear well im just trying to learn these things because im new at this technician stuff the copier is an CAnon IR 5075 an where can i find the scan tab by the way because its not appearing on the screen also i checked the additional function to see if i can find it but no luck please help me if u can to this solution

did you ever have a SCAN TAB shown on panel

The standard settings for each function of the machine (Copy, Mail Box, Send, and Fax) are
already set at the factory,

do u see an arrow ----> at top right of control panel ????
if so, touch it to scroll over to next tabs

Network Scanning*

The Network Scan function enables you to use the iR5075/iR5075N/iR5065/iR5065N/iR5055/iR5055N as a conventional scanner. You can scan a document using the machine, and read the data in an application you are using on your computer.

To use this function, the machine is required to be connected to a network, equipped with the Printer function (standard-equipped for the iR5075N/ iR5065N/iR5055N), and Network ScanGear* to be installed on your computer. You can scan images of up to A3 in size at a resolution of 600 x 600 dpi.

4. Set UI-RSCAN to 0 to remove the Scan tab. Set UI-RSCAN to 1 to display the
Scan tab.
5. Hit OK.
Summary:
UI-RSCAN = 0 will remove the scan button.
UI-RSCAN = 1 will display the scan button

But sir the copier is not really use for networking its use normally for photocopying an so its jus that every time i scan legal paper through the ADF the document thgat prints always cuts. i dont really no much but im learning as much as possible is there a way i can jus set the tabs so it can appear or is it necessary for it to be network so that send tab can be accessed im sorry for putting u through all this trouble thanks for the help tho so hw can i fix this problem without networking this 5075 sir

If you copy a LTR sized page it orientates properly? Are you originals curled? There's sensor flags (White spring loaded doodads) that determine what size original is being fed. If they are broken or whatnot it will throw off your margins and cause all sorts of weird shit.


Edit: Have you run the feeder calibration? Service mode > Feeder > Function > tray* (all 4 must be done for it to click)

If u don,t have network & options & u use the printer a just a copy machine- u will not have. Scan option.

U just use the DF as a feed>scan>print out


U need to do a RDF-H1 tray width adjustment.

Yes, you need do a calibration on the feeder as the values are going to be out if it's not detecting paper properly.
sm> Feeder > Function > Tray-* All four, need to adjust guide in feeder to ltr/ltr-r/a4 and a5r (all listed on the label)

set it for ltr, hilite tray-ltr and hit ok, if it comes back ok move to the next one.

This is what determines what sized originals are being fed (there is another way it does but it is obviously using the def for size detection)

when you place a Legal size document in the DF TRAY / & hit copy > the legal paper that exits fuser is missing half the image shown on original document. is this what happens all the time

Initial document size detection (width direction)
a.Overview
Initial document size detection (width direction) is accomplished by the document width detection variable resistor (VR1) in the document tray. The document width detection variable resistor works in synchronization with the slide guide to vary its resistance in an analog
form.
The ADF controller receives changes in this resistance as a document size signal (VR) and replaces it with a size in the width direction.
A dedicated A4R/LTRR identification sensor (PI2) in the document tray assures that document width detection variable resistor (VR1) is able to detect the widths of A4R (210 mm wide) and LTRR (216 mm wide) accurately. The A4R/LTRR identification sensor generates
a 1 on the A4/LTRR identification on detecting a document width that is 197mm or more but less than 214mm.

MODEL-SZ
Use it to select the mode of indication by destination and of the ADF original
size detection.
Settings-- 0: AB (6R5E), 1: INCH (5R4E), 2: A (3R3E), 3: AB/INCH (6R5E)

SCANSLCT
Use it to enable or disable the original size detection mechanism for the
ADF.
• When enabled, the scan size is determined in relation to the original size.
Settings 0: off (default), 1: set on

Document size recognition
The ADF recognizes document sizes in the length direction (feed direction) and in the width direction and forwards the document size information to the host to which the ADF is attached.

It's part of the install process on EVERY canon I've ever installed.
