    [Misc] canon irc3380i

    Hi Guys

My Canon engineer has gone on Holiday and we have a problem with a Canon IRC3380 hope you can help. Machine was leaving black marks approx 1 inch long by about 1 inch wide (like a scrape usual thing you get from a worn drum unit) mark usually in similar place each time on the page and always black. I fitted a new Black drum unit complete however problem still remains. The other drums and ITB are not in very good condition, is it possible that due to these being also worn black marks can still appear on the paper. Any help appreciated as he is away for two weeks!!!
    Cheers

Do say five A4 copies of the same original and as the first one is coming out open the side door, deliberately jam the machine. This will enable you to see if the problem is before or after fusing.

    Post a sample please.

the ITB is one lump and the cleaning unit for the ITB is bolted on and is seperate.

might be worth having a look at the cleaning blade, take the ITB out using the spring releases on the side of the unit and two screws hold the cleaning unit to the ITB, be careful when removing as the unit is flush with the ITB.

while your there check the surface of the ITB to see if there are any marks on the ITB itself that corrolate with the mark your getting.

I don't have access to a machine to take a photograph from, but the images I provided above are from the service manual and should be all you need to get the ITB out from the machine and the cleaning unit from the ITB.

if not I'd suggest leaving it for your canon guy to come back and appologise to your customer.
