when printing a 8mb and up document i get (PDL DLG UNKNOWN ERROR) canon does not have anything usefull to say about it. how bout ya'll?

Try clearing partition '3 then 4' on the hard drive in Service Mode and power cycling the machine
To clear partition '3 then 4' of the hard drive in service mode level 1 select: Settings / Registration > 2 then 8 > Settings / Registration. Choose Copier > Function > System. Change CHK TYPE to '3' and then highlight HD CLEAR and press 'ok'
do same for '4"
Confirm the print settings you made when printing from computer.
Check the settings, and try printing again.
