    IR5235i E890-0003

    Hey all,

    got another funky one.

    Machine has an error E890-0003.

service manual only covers E890-000x (x = 1-2) which are enviormental sensor errors (never even bothered looking for these in the past as have never had one go wrong).

It has been raised with Canon but it cannot hurt to ask around the houses if anyone else has seen this before.

I have disconnected the sensors and reconnected them and checked over the loom.

the machine is telling e-maintenance that it is an E001 error (obviously not) and the machine itself doesn't know what the error is regarding with the built in info panel.

    anyone seen this before?

    update:

Canon have come back to me, informing me that it is most certainly one of th enviornment sensors.

they suggest that the firmware be re-written and the sensors replaced.

I'll update once this has been done.

      update further:

no effect, replaced both enviormental sensors and updated firmware to the latest, also cleared the DCON and re-entered values. no change in error code or machine status.

have updated call with Canon directly.

      anyone got any ideas?

Well it seems the comunity is either ignoring or is as stumped as I am.

Canon have advised that the DC controller will need to be replaced, should this not be the case then the issue will be escallated past the SSA team.

always good to keep these threads updated.

Connections.JPGHave you cleared the ram? Dcon and MainCon? And if E maintenance is stating a fuser error, have you cleared the fuser error in service mode? If you have done that and checked and reseated ALL associated connectors then probably Dcon. You can also run Main controller diagnostic checks from service mode

            yes to all the above.

Canon aren't sure why it is kicking out an emaintenance error pointing to the fuser (they are looking into it).

in any case I'm on annual leave this coming week so this is going to one of the other guys at my firm to deal with (on the provision the DC controller turns up in my absence) so I'll update once I know more

Have u thought about bypassing the sensors\

With a short from signal to ground on sensor connector(used a small paper clip)
?-- Used to do this on CLC1120 series for transfer drum cleaning brush mockups.

                  Issue resolved.

                  DC controller PCB faulty.

as to why it kicked out an E001 error over Emaintenance I do not know.

thanks for the suggestions though guys, it's always good to get opinions on the matter.
