Hello guys, first time poster here and in need of some assistance with Scan to Email that is literally making me want to tear my hair out. Here's a little background of the situation, I have three Canon iR-ADVs: Two 6065s and One 6055. Previously we used Microsoft Exchange as our main mail server, the previous Onsite IT Tech that worked here set up Scan to Email to be used by a dummy email account (within our domain) to send out the scans to the email of users within our domain.
We recently migrated the email accounts of users from Exchange to Office 365, in order for us to shut down the old Exchange server we need to remove MFPs from using the previous Exchange settings. For that, we set up an smtp relay (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/l...chg.150).aspx) and it works perfectly on the 6065s with no issue but I am stuck on getting the 6055 to work. They will not send out any Scan to Emails and for each scan I get I receive an end code (error code I presume) for #752.
Did some research on the code and figured out it could be one of these:
Cause 1
The server is not functioning. The network is down.
Remedy
Check that the SMTP server is operating properly. Check the network status.
Cause 2
The SMTP server name for e-mail or I-fax is not correct. The domain name or e-mail address may not be set.
Remedy
Check the SMTP Server name, domain name, and E-Mail Address in E-Mail/I-Fax Settings in Send in Function Settings (Settings/Registration). (See [E-Mail/I-Fax Settings] in "Settings/Registration Table.")
Did some research again and found out about the service mode and the network option (Pressing 2 & 8 simultaneously with the Settings/Registration button > Pressing immediately after Settings/Registration button again, Level 2 > Copier > Option > Network > SMTPTXPN) where I can change the port number and set up the settings to use smtp.office365.com w/ SSL authentication (SMTP send from Canon ImangeRunner Advance C7065 | Email and calendar | Microsoft Office 365 Community).
Tried that on the 6065s and it worked with no issue but again the 6055 will not send out the scan to an email and it'll give me the #752 end code.
I figured maybe I should just create a gmail account and set it up with that, used the smtp.gmail.com settings, used both ports 465 and 587 and still #752 end code.
Last thing (I promise
), I see that every time I boot up the 6055 I get a check network connection prompt at the bottom of the screen.
So I, checked our data drop with a laptop to see if maybe the drop does not allow users to go outside our network but I have no issues accessing the Internet with the original Ethernet cable plugged into the 6055 and a different working Ethernet cable. My next thing is to switch the Ethernet cable to the data drop that the 6065 is using to see if it can send out emails however, I am waiting for a not so busy time to test that out. I have reverted the 6055 back to it's previous configuration and it's working fine however, we're going to take down the old Exchange Server soon in order to have a full Office365 mail environment.
If there is anything you guys can do to help me I would really appreciate it, I'm really trying to avoid having my boss pay $175/hr to have tech come in and check it out for it to be something simple that I just can't see yet.
Thanks in advance for any assistance or tips you guys can provide and my apologies for the long post.
