Canon imageRUNNER C5030 Dead/Only Green Power Light.

    Hi Guys,

I am a canon tech looking at an imageRUNNER Advance C5030i machine, the green light on the display panel is on, but machine is dead, their is no rotation or powering up, just a clicking noise from power supply area, when switched on. I have replaced the following parts:

    Main Controller 1
    Main Controller 2
    Hard Drive
    All Memory On Both Boards.

    Machine is still dead!

Could it be a power supply issue?

U mean the Green LED (Processing Data Light)

Why would u change all those parts "without checking your supply voltage"

Do you have AC voltage going into the AC driver and AC coming out
    if
yes > now check your main switch assembly for any burn marks.

You could Unplug connectors one at a time from the DC controller and power the machine on each time to see if it powers up, if it powers up during this test check the connector that leads to item causing short.(With the connector plugged back in , check the voltages on the pins
    for proper voltage.(need manual)

But I would check procedure below first

    - First check for AC voltage going to the 12/24 Power Supply and ALL NIGHT PS (Power Supply) from AC DRIVER.

AC voltage comes from the AC DRIVER at J1005 to J681 for the ALL NIGHT PS and also from the sub AC driver J1022 to J1101 of the 12V PS and J1102 of the 24V PS.

Without AC power to the PCB's no DC voltage is outputted. Suspect the AC DRIVER PCB ASSEMBLY failed.
    AC Driver Part numbers-
    FM3-6052-000 iR-ADV C5035,5030 SERIES 120V
    FM3-6053-000 iR-ADV C5051,5045 SERIES 120V

    - Next -3V DC must output from the ALL NIGHT PS to the Relay PCB.

ALL NIGHT PS J691 pins 2/3 (pink wires) to Relay PCB J413 pins 1/2.

When the AC voltage is supplied to the ALL NIGHT PS and no 3V DC output replace the ALL NIGHT PS PCB ASSEMBLY - FK2-6324-000.

    - 3V DC flows from the ALL NIGHT PS to the Relay PCB and from the Relay PCB down to the 12 and 24 volt Power Supply.
Check for 3volts at the RELAY PCB J411 pin 1 to J835 pin 1 to turn on the 12V PS and from the RELAY PCB J412 pin 1 to J834 pin 1 to turn on the 24V PS.

No 3V DC from Relay PCB to J411/J412 pins 1, replace the RELAY BOARD ASSEMBLY FM3-7935-000

Once the 3vdc voltage turns on the Power Supply, 12v is outputted from J835 to J411 Relay PCB (Orange wires) and 24V DC from J834 to J412 (Red wires).
If there is no DC voltage outputted, replace POWER SUPPLY BOX ASSEMBLY FM3-6031-000.
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
NOTE:The main power supply is referred to as the power supply box assembly in the parts catalog and the relay pcb is referred to as the relay board assembly in the parts catalog.
Note: On this series the power plug should be disconnected before any boards or connectors are disconnected.

try the drum driver pcb and make sure you get the connectors back into the correct ports.
      good luck

        Hi.
I have the same problem as the thread creator. Although my green lamp does not light, it only flashes once just when you turn on. Otherwise completely dead, just a very weak sound from AC power.
        I have replaced:
AC driver pcb, All night PS and the Relay board. Still nothing ....

Could it be the Power supply box?
        How do I move on?

I bought this printer cheap because of this problem. So it would have been fun to be able to get it started and use it.

        Thanks in advance

Test voltages do you have a service manual?

I have a C5035. In my case it was a dead 12V power supply board. The fuse was blown (no continuity between 2 sides). Then there was one of the large MOSFET "K3568" transistors that was completely shorted between all its 3 legs (this is mounted on the large heatsink). Then there was a 10ohm resistor (0805 size) right under that same MOSFET (bottom side). After replacing those 3 parts the printer started up without blowing the fuse anymore. The way you can check the 12V supply (and the same is true for the 24V supply which is in the same metal cage together) is by applying 3V to the OUTPUT header of those supplies where the BLUE and YELLOW wires go (that 3V "enable" voltage comes from the "all-night" PCB through the relay PCB and finally into the 12V/24V supplies).
I attached illustration procedure how to check the 24V PSU, the 12V PSU is very similar. For educational purpose only, do it at your own risk, don't work with mains voltage if you are not familiar, it can kill you. I hope this information helps someone.

Im sure there are many of these still working. The dead with green light will be Main cont on 3245 but sometimes control panel.
I have used Canon Imagerunner parts for sale. Most are floor model Color and / Advances Imagerunner with some 3025 3235 parts. Several intact machines being parted.
