The H1's were a finicky box sometimes they changed some things when they switched to ver 2 and it got a little confusing. looked thru some of my old notes on these and I would try setting the dipswitch on the left to up and the one on the right to down, it was what they called service position 2 and see if it lets you reload the software.

          ;-)

For a faster installation, the files can be copied from the CD's to a location on the computers Hard Disk Drive.

If this is done, copy the four separate application disks and their folders (if shown) on the CD to a new folder on the Hard Drive.
~ Do not mix the CD files with other files on the computers Hard Disk Drive.

Also, make sure the Printer firmware is ver.91.02 or later.

Fiery Installer Utility Fails to Start the System Software Installation

              Problem :
On certain Fiery controllers, system software can be installed over a network connection using the Fiery Installer utility on the System Software CD. When this is attempted, it times out. Everything appears to be set up correctly, however the Fiery Installer utility fails to start the system software installation.

              Solution :
Check the following settings on the PC you are using to install the system software from:

              I. Disable any security software running on the PC - Verify that any security software running on the PC is disabled (ex. firewall, anti-virus, etc). If you are running Windows XP SP2, verify that the Windows Firewall has been disabled.

II. Disable the QoS Packet Scheduler -

              1. Right click on 'My Network Places' and select Properties from the resulting popup menu.
              2. Right click on 'Local Area Connection' and select Properties from the resulting popup menu.
              3. On the General tab of the Local Area Connection Properties dialog box, scroll through the items in the 'This connection uses the following items' field, looking for 'QoS Packet Scheduler'.

              4. If 'QoS Packet Scheduler' is present, verify that it is disabled (unchecked). If it is checked on, uncheck it.
              5. Click OK.

III. Disable the Deterministic Network Enhancer -

              1. Right click on 'My Network Places' and select Properties from the resulting popup menu.
              2. Right click on 'Local Area Connection' and select Properties from the resulting popup menu.
              3. On the General tab of the Local Area Connection Properties dialog box, scroll through the items in the 'This connection uses the following items' field, looking for 'Deterministic Network Enhancer'.
              4. If 'Deterministic Network Enhancer' is present, verify that it is disabled (unchecked). If it is checked on, uncheck it.
              5. Click OK.
