[Misc] Cannon C2220i Scanning

Hi all,

First post here.

I am not a technician of any kind. I work in an office and we have the Cannon C2220i, our 'tech guy' is currently enjoying a two week holiday. As humorous as it might seem no one in the office has a clue how to scan in one sided!! To my knowledge it seems it is pre-programmed too only scan in double sided.

Essentially I need to scan long contracts, which I have been doing manually ever since I decided this week to take on the Cannon C222oi (with no success). We don't have adobe acrobat so simply can't delete the blank pages in the PDF. I have read through the manual online, and spent a lot more time than I should trying to work it out - this has led me here!

Below I have attached two images too show the options I receive when I try to change the 'two sided scan.'


EDIT: I re-read this an it wasn't very clear.

I am scanning A4 paper in, and the problem is it is scanning both sides of the page - when I only want it too scan one side. So this leads to me ending up with a PDF which is twice as long as it should be, half the pages being blank.

What size paper are u scanning ???????

do u see that A3 listed in first pic/ u select arrow -> to select AUTO

Scan Size
You can select the original scanning size. If you press [Auto Size], the machine automatically recognizes the size of the
original when scanning.

Hi,

I took those pictures on my post from the internet. I am scanning A4 paper, and have adjusted those settings accordingly.

The issue is it scans double sided, when all the documents I scan are single sided.

on the image above, under number 6, is the two sided option.

select it, and then select 'cancel selected settings' in the bottom left of the box.

you'll see the 2 sided orrginial button now no longer highlighted.

Workaround is to change SERVICE MODE>COPIER>LEVEL 2>OPTIONS>BODY>SCANSLCT to 0.

Go into Service Mode Level 1 by pressing the Settings / Registration *Button, then # 2 & 8 at the same time, then the Settings / Registration *Button again.>
for Level 2 press Settings / Registration *Button then #2

in Level2 go to OPTIONS>BODY>SCANSLCT - set to "0". OK !!
then exit service mode


This will change the scanning from a double scan to a single pass when using large size originals.
