I have a customer asking cost per page for a C7000. He is interested in buying a used machine.

By his online googling - he got 0.05 USD per 11x19 full color and 0.009 black&white.

I find that somewhat low but I don't have first hand experience.

Anyone with some solid numbers ?

Those numbers seem
Low\ Like 4/5 years for single sided letter glass copies >at 6% coverage.


Is this for a future contract sale, or customers personal out of pocket cost _?

Those costs he came up with are based on a volume band he is committed to monthly plus a base charge. Example 50k BW 10k color would be $500 including base charge then those overages would kick in at 50,001 and 10,001. So if customer does not do that amount per month, bummer as he has to pay for that amount. Other option is to pay large base charge with no allotment per month and he would get that rate.
Other option is generic toners but I will warn you right now do not put under contract for yourself as you pay 10 fold in parts and make sure he puts your desk right next to the machine as you will be there very very often.
Call around to local dealers to find prices as the ones without qualified techs will charge less to get that rate. If it is a good price you charge customer a tad bit higher, sit back and collect revenue with every click and when they call for service you call the company and place the service call. Let them do the dirty work.

We didn't get to specifics yes but he plans to run it at full coverage.

He owns a couple of offset machines and now wants a piece of the digital market.

So basically he will print : leaflets, posters, brochures... stuff like that (full coverage).

That is why I was sceptical about the price per page.

I saw that the toner of the VP version (CEXV20) costs less and has more yield that the toner of the non VP version (CEXV25).

Are we talking about the same toner but different bottling ???
