canon c5180 error code e0008-0001

c5180i threw this code monday. as far as i can find it is a fuser end of life code? i had put in a new fuser in the recent past but did not reset the counter. i cant find where to reset that counter so the message will go away. the machine just turns on and throws the code. i have taken the entire left side fuser assembly and replaced the whole thing with a known working one. if this code is for something else please set me on the right path. thank you

E008 is the end of life message, but can be a gear broken, did you clear the error in service mode? Copier-Function-Clear-Err. The counter should be under durables or could be a counter under Misc in the durable counter too.

E008 0001 even after replacing the fixing assembly.
E008 0001 - This error code indicates an error in the count of the fixing assembly life.

The counter may have become corrupt or the counter was not cleared at the time of parts replacement .

Check the following:

1) Clear Copier>Counter>Drbl-1>FX-BLT-U
2) Set Level 2>Copier>Option>Body>FXMSG-SW to 0

If still having problems, try doing a DCON clear.
Make sure u have a P PRINT printed out before any clear.

After clearing DCON, re-input all of the DCON door specifications and check the values for Copier>Display>Fixing>FX-UHP and FX-LHP in service mode.
If the values = 0, execute Copier>Function>Fixing> FX-UHP-S and FX-LHP-S.

DCON worked perfectly, put in all the values needed and now im off to my next headache. thanks for all the help.
