Re: Auto Gradation settings greyed out.

hi, Yes, auto gradation is on the screen, lets you pick either full adjust or quick adjust, but wont let you "start printing"!, the paper weight is correct, checked in paper settings etc that the paper is all ok, tried from the bypass and that is greyed out to when you attempt to start. There is another setting in maintenance, adjust imgage, which is mismatch colour settings or something similar wording, about 2 steps down from the auto grad. That is also greyed out too!

ULM is universal log in manager, a poor mans uniflow, which is provided free. I thought it mite be a setting on that, which may stop all users doing certain things but it allows me to change everything else apart from auto grad and mismatch!?!?!? I dunno lol

Re: Auto Gradation settings greyed out.

Color correction doesn't need to print... so we can rule that one out. Thats why i asked "Did you see a msg that it was auto adj. gradation when replacing the drum ? (maybe there's another way to force an auto adjust ?)"

auto or quick adjust doesn't need to print either...

Lv.2 Details Auto gradation adjustment is normally executed with the recommended paper specified for each location. However, if you
want to change the paper type, use this setting to change the paper type.
Use case When executing the auto gradation adjustment using a paper other than the recommended paper type

        Adj/set/operate method
        1) Enter the setting value, and then press OK key.
        2) Turn OFF/ON the main power switch.
Caution = Do not change the setting in the normal operation.

        NOTE:
With this machine, executing correction of gradation density characteristics of plain paper estimates the appropriate value for the other media. Therefore, there is no need
to individually execute this control with other media.

Note that the estimated value is just the predicted value.

In the case of executing correction in a precise sense, change the numeric figure in the following service mode so that a correction menu is displayed in user mode.
        COPIER > OPTION > DSPLY-SW > HPFL-DSP
0 =Displays Auto Gradation Adjustment with plain paper only (default)

2)Place the test prints in the Reader.
3)Reader scans the gradation density of the patch pattern on the test print.
4)The Main Controller PCB 2 creates an image gradation density correction table from
the gradation density data of patch pattern scanned by the Reader.

The machine does all of this except for the last step where it says START PRINTING. That button is greyed out, the paper settings are correct and there is enough paper in the cassettes etc.

So the Ok is grayed out_*

Weird that u can select Full & Paper Type & Location with the OK grayed out->and not available.

could this be a Touch issue on lower area ?

Know this sounds weird, but i remember >had a few C1's that would not let me do Auto Gradation, because of the unknown id's setting shown below----

                    Try this_Set to ON_😃

                    For imageRUNNERS ADVANCE Series

                    1) Press [Settings/Registration] on the copier's display.

                    2) Press [Login].

                    3) Enter the [System Manager's ID as well as the System Pin].

                    4) Press [Login].

                    5) Press [Management Settings].

                    6) Press [User Management Settings].

                    7) Press [Department ID Management].

                    8) Press [ON].

                    9) Look for [Allow Print Jobs with Unknown ID].

                    10) Select [On] 😎or [Off].

😎[On]: The machine accepts print jobs from computers that do not correspond with a registered Department Id.
😧[OFF]: The machine does not accept print jobs from computers that do not correspond with a registered Department ID

                    11) Hit OK.

Universal Login Manager (ULM) is a server-less solution for Canon imageRUNNER ADVANCE MFPs, and MEAP-enabled Canon imageRUNNER LBPs, offering login and usage tracking functionality. It is designed to fit into small - to medium - size organizations that require device authentication and simple usage tracking in a customizable, easy-to-implement solution. It delivers convenient user authentication through picture logins, PIN codes, or proximity cards, and allows organizations the ability to manage security and costs by controlling individual users' access and usage.

In ULM, there is a setting called "Roles". Any chance that your login is not "full admin"?

Else try get your Customer to create a new user with role set as "DeviceAdmin"

I know this is an old thread but we used to have similar issues with Sharp copiers and a firmware upgrade resolve such problem..
