    Setting up a IR c5235i

Our customer from this tread http://www.copytechnet.com/forums/ca...ks-darker.html ordered a Canon IR c5235i... This afternoon i've been building up the machine; attached reader, placed drums and toner and did an initial Full. Grad. and first test.

So far so good. I'd like this one to work with less hassle than de 2020. It should be more up to it's task.
I changes the setting for the toner, so user can remove/change the toner if needed...
(Had quite som calls on 5030's on this, 1 needed and 1 near replacement, they had only one, replaced the one and couldn't open the tonercompartments the next day)

Any other suggestions on fine-tuning, changing of defaults or checking before it goes of to the client ?

we set all our colour machines to default to mono, let the customer decide if they want to print/copy in colour, keeps their costs down. Paper overide to ON, as it is defaulted to OFF. Timer settings, auto sleep etc, adjust them to what ever suits. This is a great machine compared to the 20** series. They seem to be a good medium volume workhorse.

They'll only be printing fullcolor drawings on it. So mono won't fall good with them
      paperoverride is a good one...

These machines are designed to be efficient and prevent the toner from being changed before it is ready.

Have the customer keep a stock of toner and they notify when they have used them and turn off the user controlled opening of the toner compartment, users shouldn't need access until the toner is empty.

Provide a spare wtb too, these are easily replaceable by the users.

Papersize override is a must, ensure the driver is also setup to default to the output size too and not match page size.

Other than that you should be golden, most other bits are a customer by customer basis

I know, but to prevent having to visit them when they opened and closed the compartment w/o replacing it. They will prob. not find the option anyhow... If needed, I can call them and let them open it themself. I have seen them enough to last a year

Added Postscript License this morning and did some testing... Nice ! If this isn't good enough, nothing is...

If the 5235 is as good as the 5030. I hardly have to do anything on these, just the normal PM and incidental defective drum/ITB/Fuser...

the 52xx series is better, they fixed the ITB issues.
