    Canon 8105 Hopper

    Hi Guys,

I have a 8105 in a print room where the customer has tried to remove the toner and the end of the bottle is stuck in the hopper.

After some serious forcing I managed to get it out but some of it broke inside the hopper.

I ordered FM4-0880-010 Cam unit, as the hopper assembly is listed as NPN, no part no in the manual.

Has anyone replaced before, it looks like quite a challenging task and the manual does not show howtodo it, just how to remove the hopper unit as a whole.

    Many thanks

    Z

READ THIS ATTACHED PDF INFORMATION ON HOPPER FOR---imageRUNNER ADVANCE 8105 Series

A point to note> u need to inspect two gears & make sure some of the teeth are not broken.
    #16-- 26T/ 48T Bevel Gear & #17-- 32T Gear in pic below

When an unexpectedly strong force is added on the Operator Lever , the teeth of the Gears may break. Thus when the Operator Lever is forcibly turned while the Gear has been damaged, the operating force is not properly transferred, which also causes breakage of the Operator Lever

Important information when replacing the Cam Unit on the Hopper Assembly for the imageRUNNER Advance 6000 / 8000 Series.

When replacing the Cam Unit FM4-0880-010 shown in FIGURE 620 item #11 in the Parts Catalog,

you need to remove the E Ring (#25 with part number XD9-0134-000), the Front Stopper (#29 with part number FC6-3230-000) and the Shaft Ring (#10 with part number FC6-2327-000) as shown in the diagram below on the old unit because they are NOT included with the Cam Unit.
If you discard the old Cam Unit, then you must order these parts.
