Hi, I'm setting up a network printer for printing, the printer connnected to router by ethernet cable. as usual way, on computer I typed in "ipconfig" to find out the router's ip as 192.168.2.1, then I used this ip as the printer gateway , and but I still couldn't ping the printer. I tried "DHCP" on the printer, let the printer picks the ip by itself, then I noticed the printer picks a gateway as 192.168.1.254 as gateway, which is the router provider's (primus) DNS. I'm curious why it does that, in this case, the computer and the printer are not in the same network. anybody can share some insights with me? Thanks in advanced.

I believe> For your printer and computer to be on the same network, the first three blocks of the IP Address numbers (octets) will be the same, such as 192.168.1.XXX.
