Canon ir c3380 - motor test

Trying to test the waste toner motor M12. The part-chk says M12 is a developing motor (does not check anyway). But how do you check the operation of this motor. Is the part-chk for the motors wrong? Thanks

I have found that the Waste Toner Motor (M12) can also generate noise which seems to be amplified through the machine. In Service Mode (COPIER > FUNCTION > PART-CHK), set MTR = 12, then switch on with MTR-ON and you will notice appreciable noise in that part of the machine (front left). A good motor makes very little noise. I tested with the motor right out of the assembly and you can feel the vibration.
