Canon IR3245I Legal Scanning Problem

I have a Canon IR3245I when my customer scans a legal document it comes up landscape size on the computer screen instead of portrait. Is there a setting on the copier that can be changed or is there something of the software side???? I would greatly appreciate any input.

**********:-D There is an option called 'Long Strip Original' that will automatically rotate the scanned originals during the scanning process.


The Long Strip Original option will only be visible in the Special Features tab of the Copy screen when the following service mode is executed:

In Service Mode Level-2:
Enter service mode by pressing the additional function {*} key followed by the 2 & 8 key together, then additional function {*} key again
COPIER > OPTION > USER > MF-LG-ST

Sets long length mode key.
0: Normal setting
1: Display long length key in mode screen

Default factory is set to 0

Once the MF-LG-ST is set to 1, the Long Strip Original option will be available in the Special Features tab of the Copy screen.

1. On the copier control panel, select the Send tab.

2. Pull down the 'Scan Settings' drop down menu and select 'Option'.

3. Press the 'Document Size Select' button on the resulting Scan Settings screen.

4. Press the 'Long Strip Original' button. The size will automatically switch to 'Auto'. The feature is enabled when the option is highlighted in blue.

5. Press 'Done'.

6. Press 'OK'.

7. Select your destination and send the job by pressing the Start key.

8. The resulting image will be automatically rotated.

* Note - Be sure to load your originals with the bottom short edge going into the feeder .
If you load your originals the other way, the resulting image will be portrait but upside down.

Thanks so much for your help. I just installed this machine and my customer scans a lot of legal size. I will go on Monday and adjust this setting. This was a huge help for me and my client.

Hello,

Opening up quite a old post again

I have followed the advice given but Canon iR 3235 does not allow Long-Strip for color scanning. It says it is allowed only with B/W scanning. Any work-out available which will help in color scanning long strip original.

No. Scan to FTP.

Color scanning and long strip original seem to incompatible with each other. Plus long strip original does not allow "job-build" option also.

Any suggestions to overcome both.

Color Scaning on Canon Black and White Copiers need to use Color Network Scan Gear.
