You need software (SST) which is universal to all series
and firmware which is specific to each series

Hello,

Some canon models (IR25xx series....) need UST (User Support Tool), a software which is included in the model system software. In the Image Runner Advance models, the system upgrading may be configured to be done automatiacally from a canon support server through the internet.
