    Big problem Error E-0001 adv5030

I have a Canon ADV 5030 with the constant adv code E-0001
the machine is observed misses the fuser temperature is always cold.

I tried fixing the entire unit in another advance 5030 and its performance is good so the fixing unit is not the cause of the problem

I changed Dc controller, AC plate driver, Power supply, high voltage transformer, hard drive, new firmware.

    What I can do?

Did you run (ERR) after replacing the fixing assembly ?

The fixing unit of the machine, it works fine on another machine just in another machine to another client

he means did you re-set the error in Service mode?

if you have an E001 error it will not clear itself even if you replace the fixing assembly with a new one, you need to manually clear the error:

        *28* > copier > function > clear > Err > ok

        reboot machine.

If I am able to change certain plates, that mean I have a minimum level to play the machine, the fault reset is something you learn at first,

of course I always reset the error!!!

          Thanks

            Interesting!

You probably already inspect cabels and connectors on the machine? Wich version of firmware is on ?

E001-0001/E001-0003 due to too high heater OFF detection temperature setting for the sub
            thermistor 1/2
            Description
When paper was incorrectly set or multiple sheets of paper were fed at a time, an error (E001-0001/0003)
was displayed to indicate that the sub thermistor 1/2 detected a high temperature.
-E001-0001: Sub thermistor 1, 2 (TH1) detects 275 degrees Celsius or more for 0.2 sec.
-E001-0003: Hardware detects abnormal high temperature of the thermistor (Main thermistor 1: 264 degrees
Celsius, Main thermistor 2: 265 degrees Celsius, Sub thermistor 1, 2: 280 degrees Celsius) for 0.4 sec
            consecutively.
            Cause
As the sub thermistor 1/2 had too high heater OFF detection temperature setting, it caused overshoot due to
its residual heat. This caused the sub thermistor to detect a high temperature, and consequently leading to
            the symptom.
With DCON ver. 29.01, the heater OFF detection temperature setting of the sub thermistor 1/2 was changed
from 275 degrees Celsius to 270 degrees Celsius. However, the lack of leeway for the high temperature
detection caused the overshoot, and consequently leading to the symptom.
[Reference] Overshoot means the situation in which the temperature of sub thermistor 1/2 temporarily rises
due to discharged residual heat after the heater become off, and thus, the waveform of the sub thermistor
reaches the high temperature detection level. In the case mentioned above, the sub thermistor caused this
overshoot and kept increasing its temperature despite the heater being off. This consequently led to the
            symptom.
            Field Remedy
With DCON ver. 60.01, the heater OFF detection temperature was changed from 270 degrees Celsius to
265 degrees Celsius. So upgrade the DC controller software.
When upgrading the DCON to ver.60.01, use the combination of versions shown below:
            MN-CONT:Ver.56.01/LANG:Ver.56.01/DCON:Ver.60.01/RCON(1Pass):Ver.21.01/RCON(Reversing

                E001-0000

Cause : 1-way gear slipping on worn drive shaft on fixing drive assembly (Fig 813, Item 2)

Solution : Replace fixing drive assembly FM3-5967 (no part number for the shaft)

Remark : In service mode (display >analogue) Fix-E (temp of fixing film) was not increasing whereas FIX-C, E2 & E3 were which measure the fixing heater temperature.

                  Hi,

skynet is on the money. i had a similar problem in that i got E-001 every ten copies or so and if i moved the fuser to another machine it would work fine, but what you'll find is that, if you took the fuser from the working machine, you'll find it won't in the machine with the E-001 issue.

i found a bulletin that worked for me... Ref No: F2-T01-N08-10179-02

this was the cause of my issue...see below...the fuser drive gear was worn, i have now seen this a few times in the field.
                  fix.JPG

The bulletin has an upgrade part it mentions, which is the part number given by skynet...FM3-5967-010

We found replacing the drive assy as a unit worked every time, as opposed to just the gear, according to the bulletin there is a shaft change, where the shaft has been hardened.

                  hope this helps....

Hmm. Looks like a shaft change is not going to be enough. I see a damaged gear too. Sounds like stocking the assembly is going to be the way to go.

What was the meter like on this machine? How many pages on it? Anyone have some meter count info to add to this shaft failure?
