    Log In greyed out

    Morning all,

I've set up a few refurbed machine recently where the Log In option in settings is greyed out.

I fix this by doing a data initialisation.

I just wondered if there was a quicker way?

I phoned Canon but they didn't know.

    Thanks

Should be able to go to SRV MODE > FUNCTION > CLEAR > PWD & this will take it back to default 7654321.

Thanks. I'll try that next time.

Not sure if that will fix it though. It's not that the password has been changed, it's just greyed out?

          Cheers.

Hi, if you or anybody else would still like to know how to enable admin login if it's grayed out here's the solution:
            1. go to settings/registration
            2. Management settings
            3. User management
            4. Authentication management
            5. change "use user authentication" from OFF to ON
it should help, at least it did in my case
            cheers

I have seen this many times with refurbished printers.
First I cleared them to zero. (data management/initialization of all settings/ 1x with zero data.)
When restarting, the printer offers to change the factory password.

                Re: Log In greyed out

It's probably greyed out because they changed the system manager ID password to blank. That automatically logs you out and keeps the login button grey since you are effectively always the administrator.
