IR3035: Fuser heating element cracks often and results in E000000

    Dear Members,

I am not a technician, but I have a DTP center where I have this machine. I have a unique problem specific to this one IR3035 machine.

My Fuser heating element cracks and breaks every now and then. I have tried changing the heating element 4 times. I have tried changing the fuser unit including the rollers etc also once, still the problem recurs. I have even tried loosening the pressure screws. I have tried changing the thermistor. I have run out of ideas on this one. The technician who attends to my machine also does not seem to have a clue and says he has not seen anything like this before.

Can you guys advise me on this issue.

    Thanks in advance.

    Kamil

Are you touching them? Oil from your hands would cause the surface temp to be lower than the surrounding area and the expansion of the glass is not uniform causing the glass to crack same goes for spay oil.

Excessive shock would also cause this.
Are you using the right spec lamp if they dont have space to set out it would crack as well.
    Whatever

      Dear Allan,

Thanks for trying to help me out.

No, we are not touching the glass causing the rapid change in heat. We notice that the element has cracked only when we get the E000000 error code. Sometimes the element works for many weeks fine. Sometimes, it works only for a few days and then cracks. Also, there does not seem to be any shock or vibration in that.

Also, the replacement heating element were of the right spec and we bought them from two different well known sources.
      Still this issue.

Do you have any other suggestions?

      Cheers
      Kamil

Check the power. Use a line condition recorder for a while to see if the power is erratic. Is this in a heavy industrial environment?
you could change the power supply. But in my experience the element would get damaged not the glass.

        Does the lamps sit loose?
        Whatever

These machines do not use Halogen Lamps, a Heating Element is used.

When installing the lamp, please check whether it is 110 volts or 220 volts.
If your heating bulb is a broken problem, be sure to check the pressure bulb.
In fact, the problem with the heating hive is that much.
