    [iR 3245] [Jam code 0A0D] [PS17]

    Hi,

Have an iR 3245 with Jam code 0A0D pointing to PS17.

Took the machine apart, checked / cleaned sensors, but the machine still thinks there is paper jammed inside ...

Could this be a board issue please?

    Thanks in advance!

    Symptom
When duplexing 0A0D will be indicated & paper will stop just before exit, while still on 1st side. Feeds single sided copies with no problems.

    Cause
    1. Found a weak spring on flag for Duplex Feed Sensor PS17 in upper right door causing problem.
    2. In one case, Sensor PS17 was found to be faulty.

    Action
    1. Had to add 1 extra wrap to keep flag in correct position.
    2. Replacing the Sensor resolved the issue. PS17 is a Duplex Feed Sensor which plugs into the DC Controller at connector J307. The part number for PS17 is FK2-0149.

      Thanks for the reply.
That was my plan, to replace the sensor, just needed to confirm if I had to take a board with me too.
Btw, replacing that sensor seems to be a pain How long did it take you to replace it please?

      Cheers,

You can open up that assembly pretty easily. Sensor may just be dirty. I've had it happen. I think it's a couple screws on the end and you can lift the top half up.

          Piece of cake.

Remove the right door. The sensor is located inside transfer assmebly.

Hinge side of the transfer assembly is two self tap screws. Remove them and the front of the assembly will lift up and you will see the sensor.

Was thinking of the registration sensor on the machine side, on the rear

            Thanks.

That would be 0201 or 0107 jam. Your jam sounds like its in the door area

btw, what is the easiest way to replace the registration sensor please, it seemed hard to me when i cleaned the sensors. Luckily don't have to deal with it this time. The door sensor is a piece of cake.
