block IPs from printing to IR-Advanced C5235

Is there any setting on this device to only allow print jobs from the server, essentially blocking printing from locally installed drivers.

    ********:-\

    Is this helpful_?

You can have separate printer properties for the local computer and the point-and-print for client computers. There are two places to set a printer driver's default printing properties:
    I. The 'Printing Preferences' feature is for your local printing needs/settings. These settings are not pushed down to clients when the printer is shared out for point and printing.

II. The 'Printing Defaults' feature is for setting defaults for Point-and-Print clients. This feature will set default settings on the client workstations once installed via Point-and-Print.

To access the 'Printing Preferences' (local preferences only, not pushed down to point-and-print clients):

    1. Open the Printers Folder (click Start > Settings > Printers).

    2. Right-click the printer and click Printing Preferences on the popup menu;

    or

Right-click the printer and click Properties on the popup menu, then click the Printing Preferences button on the General tab.

To access the 'Printing Defaults' (will be pushed down to point-and-print clients):

    1. Open the Printers Folder (click Start > Settings > Printers).

    2. Right-click the printer and click Properties on the popup menu.

    3. Select the Advanced tab.

    4. Click the Printing Defaults button.

I just need to block someone from printing to the copier unless they use the driver shared from the server.

Jobs are tracked from the server's print queue.

The client can bypass and print for free if they use a locally installed driver.

These client computers are personal devices not connect to a domain so group policy is not a choice to block users from installing the driver locally.

In fact more than 100 people have it installed locally already and I need to prevent them from being able to use it from this point forward.

That uses group policy. As mentioned before these are not domain computers. I cannot use a GPO

yes, i agree with 20 year tech, IP filtering will do it. I had to troubleshoot that one once because customer's IT had played with it and turned it on....
