    [Error Code] IRadv 6255

    hi guys,

I recently set up a brand new, out of the box IRadv6255 in our workshop. No problems in setting up the machine, installed booklet finisher and no issues there. Upgraded firmware to latest version by CDS and everything ok, test prints, etc all working.

Machine was left in the workshop all weekend and delivered to the customer on Monday morning, the installer (not me), had it installed on the network and was giving the demo to the customer and the machine then went into Error , code E733, communication error.

I was then sent in, that evening to try and see if it was just a loose connection or something simple. Not to be, we changed the main driver PCB as directed by Canon UK but still dead. We pulled the machine as DOA and will ship it back to Canon.

Has anyone seen this? Canon UK are saying it could be a firmware issue, but the machine was working fine until it died...the booklet finisher was attached at time of firmware upgrade.

    Its baffling! Any ideas??

Could very well be firmware, but im also curious if you did a mmi clear? I've had many head scratchers with new setups that this step wasn't done. Do you get that error without the finisher attached?

im afraid so, when i arrived the finisher was attached, first thing i did was disconnect the finisher, check all the cables etc to see if there was a dodgy connection. Canon are telling us that if the finisher was unattached when the upgrade was done that when the finisher was connected it would cause an error due to incompatiblity of the firmware. But what I cant understand is that the machine was working fine in our warehouse, was delivered and installed on the network working...and when the demo was completed, it threw up the error.

Everything Canon UK told you is correct.
Finisher should be attached when upgrading to allow it to be upgraded also.
Original 7055's would have issues if the finisher was upgraded in the wrong sequence.
There have been cases of main driver causing e733
There are some cases of 24v loss throught the relay pcb

any luck with this? I wonder if PCB blew, I've had some issues with the controllers from the advanced series in general. I wonder if a dc voltage dropped out.
