Canon iR2530 Insert Drum

I have a Canon iR2530 copier that has a constant error message " INSERT DRUM "

The drum is almost new, checked all the contacts, removed boards reconnected . not sure what the issue might be.

Did you clean the optical sensors that run from from to back when drum is inserted. If there is toner on sending or receiving IR lens then this message will appear. I would also try and reseat drum again, watching how the long signal carrying tube (long off white part of drum) lines up with sending and receiving IR sensor.
