Re: UPGRADING Canon IR105
If you tell us the jam codes we should be able to help you.
In your third picture, there is paper stuck under the reversing guide. Replace that guide, because they get warped.
Hsve you cleaned or replaced the clutches, or rollers?Leave a comment:

Re: UPGRADING Canon IR105
Solution to problem 1;As earlier said,the problem to two sided copying being transfer corona,take note of this;
1.Dis-assemble the transfer assembly and wash the blocks and dry.
2.Re-assemble and tie new corona wires.
3.Open the rear cover and check on the secondary HVT connections of the seperation voltage ie connection S and Q.
4.Many times connection Q has always been the culprit,so if possible completely disconnect it coz it is major cause of the leakage on thi machine.
Solution to problem 2;Slow to PDF printing could be caused by a lower version of the firmware,so try to up grade the firmware.
Good luck brother!
I appreciate your reply.
I attached pictures for the location of jamming in two side copy.

Is it still corona replace problem after these attachments?.
Also, did you mean at step 4 that I permanently disconnect connection Q without replace it?, if so what is the benefit of it?.

Re: UPGRADING Canon IR105
Thanks COPIERTEC for your reply.
Making modifications to Canon IR105 solving the most common continuous problems in this machine.
As I am one of the users for this machine, I am stuck in to two problems at the moment:
1- Two side copy Jamming. ( As you gave me a solution for it in this post which I will try it. )
2- Very slow PDF printing.

Re: UPGRADING Canon IR105
Modifying an item has a broad spectrum of which you could first tell us which particular areas to modify.
As far as iam concerned, this machine is a robust copier with great speed and efficience save for problematic jams
more especially when paper is not of good quality. To add on what DAG COPIERS has said this machine is absolete
in the production line coz canon has already advanced to IR Advanced series of which i believe modifications have
been made on the weakness of IR105.

One point to note, if the owner of a Canon Printer
does not have or cancels their Canon Authroized service contract , they do not have the privilege to see Technical Publications, Firmware Updates,

Re: UPGRADING Canon IR105
As a matter of fact canon regularly issue technical bulletins or publications on any modifications they have done on a particular product. As you graduate from a 'newbie' to an 'oldbie' in this forum and also carefully search through the forum archive you will find many of these tech pubs.Leave a comment:

Re: UPGRADING Canon IR105
Apart from firmware upgrades is it worth the trouble? The IR series have been superseded by the newer iRADV series machines, and are now archived as obsolete machines.....at least by the manufactures. I believe the modifications you are yearning for has already been done by their design engineers in the Research & Development department, and incorporated into the newer iR-ADV equivalent of the iR105.
I also think that any 'manufacturing modifications' is exclusive right of canon as the patent owner.
I don't think so that 'manufacturing modifications' is exclusive right of canon as the patent owner after selling,
but your point of view is good.
