[Misc] SMB scan to folder-password change

    hi guys,

Ive seen a post like this before, but cant find it now.

Set up a Canon IRC250i on the network today, each user having a scan to folder on their desktop. I was told after that every 3 months, the users password on the workstation, needs to be changed. As you can appreciate, this will then stop the scans being sent from the host to the users workstation.

I have seen a post, some while back that there is a setting that will overcome this issue of password changing and scans not working until the updated password is set into the copier again. Anyone help on this?

    tks

Re: SMB scan to folder-password change

From a general networking pov, if the users are local you can use Run > lusrmgr.msc and create a new user whose password never expires and use that for SMB scanning, as long as they are running Windows 7/8 Pro or higher and are administrators. If the users are on a domain then you can use: https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-gb/lib...=cs.70%29.aspx
