my customer wants to install the driver on os 10.4
which is not available on canon site ( it is available only from 10.5 to above)
what i can do

You need only the PPD file. Then install CUPS if its active.

HTTP://localhost:631. Put that into safari and see what pops up. it should give you instruction on how to get CUPS to install if its not working all-ready.

if you don't use any authentication it should work fine.

If your lucky you could get a working PPD from here, but search the canon site first.

Download and install the Windows driver on a Windows machine (any 32 bit version) and do a test page.

Although you very well may have a Windows machine painting PostScript to it.

It will show the correct ppd file to use.

Copy the ppd to your Mac and install.

Since ppds aren't platform specific, it should work.
