    [Error Code] E196-0003

    Hi there,

I have an IR Advance C2030L with the above error. The drums have been removed and put back and the back connections checked and re-fitted. It worked after that but has since come up with the same error after a few days.

If anyone knows what could be the problem please let me know.

    Many Thanks

    Ben

    Detection description!

The operation of the Drum Unit Memory PCB is faulty and cannot be recovered.

Check the contact surface on the Drum Unit Relay PCB and the Drum Unit Memory PCB (soil, damage, contact pressure)

    My opinion

    Drum issue.
    Practice makes perfect
If it ain't broke, don't fix it

      Hi

I have been having issues with new drums lately that I have had to take the chip off the old drum and put it on the new drum. If you have recently changed a drum, maybe give that a try

what work did/where u doing on printer "Before Error"

Try removing loads from the DC-Controller by disconnecting 1 connector at a time and powering on the machine to see if the symptom changes.
Make note of connector & check.

Something may be loading down the DC-Controller.

There was a bulletin regarding the rails the drum slides on.they were modified and strengthened so the drum lifted better when it was installed

            Thanks for all the replies
It seems there was a rodent making it's way into the copier I had a tech go there again and double check, and some cables had actually been chewed/bitten.

I have had issues myself before with the drums for these machines and firmware update has resolved it. Especially the Magenta drum for some reason.
