    [Misc] Canon IR 5075 does not sense the paper in tray 1 and 2

    Hello,

    We have a Canon IR 5075, the last day that we power it on, it did not recognize te amount of paper on the tray 1 and 2, when I put the paper in the tray and closes it, it rises and stops at the top sensors, and it says that the paper level in the tray is low even when it has a lot of it, if I remove all the paper the copier sends a message of load paper in the tray, so the machine sense when it has or not paper but not the amount.

    I have checket the sensors at the back of the paper trays that senses the amount of paper in the tray and they look ok, the problem is the same with tray 2, the tray 3 and 4 are ok.

    Do you have any suggestions about what should I check next.

    Thank you.

    Right Deck/Left Deck
    The lifter stops to move up when the lifter sensor detects the surface of paper. The left/right deck, further, is equipped with a limiter to make sure that the lifter stops before it moves past the lifter sensor.
    When the open button of the deck or the cassette is pushed, the drive gear of the lifter becomes disengaged, letting the lifter to move down under its own weight.

    DECK>Paper Level Sensor
    right deck paper level upper sensor (PS47)
    left deck paper level upper sensor (PS49)

    Paper Level Detection Operation (right/left deck)
    The machine uses 2 sensors to check the position of the deck bottom plate, and checks the level of paper based on the combination of sensor states (on/off).
    The machine uses a special sensor to check the presence/absence of paper.

    ========================================

    3 = bars 100% to about 50% of capacity
    2 = bars about 50% to about 10% of capacity
    1 = bar 10% or less of capacity
    no bar= no paper

    Paper Level Detection (cassette 3/4)
    The machine checks the amount of paper remaining based on the reading of a variable resistor that operates in conjunction with the movement of the lifter drive shaft.
