Hi all,
Well, we have an ImageRunner 2020 that is throwing a E0196 code? I have searched the service manual for this code with no luck finding out what it is???
The machine will run fine for 30 min to an hour then if you try to run a copy, fax or anything (as soon as you hit any key) it locks up solid! Can't do anything, if you leave it like this for a bit it will throw an E0196 error code???
I called Canon support and they said to try to do an "All Clear" in service mode and never said what the code was. I did this Friday about 10am and everything worked great before I left at noon. Ran it solid for about 2 hrs with no problem. I get a call at 4:30pm Friday saying it locked up again...
and threw this code again!!
Has anyone ever ran into this issue or know what this error is?
Oh BTW... when you reboot it, it will give 3 long and 1 short beeps?? After you reboot it, as soon as you hit any key it will lock up again... if you let it sat for awhile (off) it will run fine for a bit and then do it all over again...
Also, it doesn't matter if you have the fax or network connected or not...
I'm wondering if it may be a HDD issue (over heating)
Thanks in advance
Dave
