E020 1060 05 Title Abnormal detected patch reading value
Detection Light patch although setting 7 for patch level (unable to fit in
the target between 550 and 640)
Remedy 1. Check the patch shape.
2. Clean the high voltage contact point with dry wiping or air
blower.
3. Check the harness/connector between the DC Controller
(UN09) and the High Voltage PCB.
Between the DC Controller PCB (UN09/ J21) and the
Primary Charging High Voltage PCB (UN06/ J441, J442)
Between the DC Controller PCB (UN09/ J21, J22) and the
Developing High Voltage PCB (UN07/ J451, J452)
Between the DC Controller PCB (UN09/ J19) and the
Auxiliary High Voltage PCB (UN08/J461, J462)
Between the DC Controller PCB (J205) and the Primary
Transfer High Voltage PCB (UN04/J1001)
4. Replace the Drum Unit (Y)
5. Replace the Registration Patch Sensor Unit
6. Replace the ITB Unit.
7. Check conduction of the fuses (FU5, FU8) in the DC
Controller PCB (UN09).
8. Replace the Primary Transfer High Voltage PCB (UN04)
9. Replace the Developing High Voltage PCB (UN07)
10. Replace the Primary Charging High Voltage PCB (UN06)
11. Replace the Auxiliary High Voltage PCB (UN08)
12. Replace the DC Controller PCB (UN09)
I have a problem with the Canon imageRUNNER C2020
can someone help?
Hi Nusmir,
The pdf given byhsrmmsm is a good piece of info regarding this issue, I would highly recommend you check if your laser unit has toner on it as it may be dirty and blocking the laser from creating a strong enough latent image on the drum messing up your patches and thus giving you the error.
Also can you confirm that you are using original toner and drums as this problem is very common if not using the original consumables. If so i recommend cleaning out the toner supply assy, replacing the drum and installing a new toner, supply toner to the toner supply assy and you should be good to go.
I put a new drum and ejected with the image, each drum is genuine, put out and the fallen machine and after a while the ok.problem is that these are all original roads

Hello Nusmir Did your problem with e020-1060 solved or not?

Had the same issue twice on the same machine, each time i had to replace the bk drum.
The first time i ended up replacing the laser unit (cleaning didn't help), the second time i was able to trick the machine with the old bk drum. Something has to do with the toner density of the patches, laser intensity and the target value of the new drum.

You have to make these steps:
Clean Laser unit.
Check the drum trail assembly "check attached file"
Check the toner hoper "check attached file"
Swap drum chip "put the old drum chip instate of new drum chip"
upgrade the firmware.
If you follow these steps I hope your problem will solve.
ive had this error code .. usually when i replace with a new drum .. but when i put the old drum back in it works fine .. the solution for me was to replace the ITB

Just try to swap drum chip "put the old drum chip in the new drum" and the machine will work try it it is more economic than replace ITB
