    Canon screen malfunction IRC2380i

    Hi,

    I need to urgently fix a Canon IRC2380i photocopier.

    The touch screen does not work properly. It looks like a minor problem such as a dirty of lose contact because if the screen mounting is moved, the screen temporarily comes back on. I need to undo the screen housing and check the contacts etc.

    Can anyone send me the tech manual as I cannot get hold of it and the following canon support link is not working for me at the mo' https://www.support.cusa.canon.com/e2/shared/login.jsp

    If you have a spare tech manual would appreciate it.

      You say you move it and it comes on...what comes on? Is this a touch screen issue or a display issue? Big difference

          U have a loose control LCD panel or just LCD screen moves around ??

          TOUCHCH          K == Used to adjust coordinate positions of analog touch panel.
          Operation method
          - Used to align the touch panel touch position with the LCD coordinate position.
          - Perform this service mode item if you have replaced the LCD unit.
          1) Select "TOUCHCHK" to display the item in reverse, then press the OK key.
          2) "+" appears on the touch panel at 9 positions sequentially. After you press each position, adjustment is complete.
          **Knowledge is time consuming, exhausting and costly for a trained Tech.**

              The screen itself just does not come on anymore when the copier is switched on. Whereby the screen used to occasionally come back on, it will no longer come on at all now. The copier has since completely stopped working which seems to suggest another problem. It will start and make all of the usual noises and seems to warm up properly. However, it will no longer print from the computer and the screen wont work at all. The copier used to print fine despite the display screen/touch screen not coming on.

              Apologies for my quick response, I have to leave on call quickly.

                  Check for a Stuck Key , make sure all keys have a slight back and forth release when pressed.


                  A stuck key will prevent printing & copying.

                      You may be better off putting in a rebuilt control panel. If the touch screen is bad it would not make the lcd shut off, just the touch screen would not respond.
