[Misc] Ipf610 getting msg close upper cover

GETTING MSG CLOSE UPPER COVER (DISPLAYING THE SAME MSG )
1 UPPER COVER IS CLOSED
2 CANT ABLE TO SHUTDOWN THE MACHINE (POSSIBLE TO FORCEFULLY UNPLUG POWER CHORD )
3 CANT ABLE TO ENTER INTO SERVICE MODE
4 TRY TO UPDATE FIRMWARE IN NORMAL MODE FAILED
5 TRY TO UPDATE IN FORCE TRANSFER FAILED
6 EXISTING FIRMWARE VERSION 1.36

Did you check the top cover sensor and action of sensor arm?

you can check the continuity from the top cover sensor connector to the main board connector J3911 pins 3, 4 and 5.
if that works then there's either something wrong with the sensor itself, the actuator or the main board

*after replaced the top cover sensor issue remains same
*replaced the mother board then machine starts working fine

It's amazing how bad Canon Main Controllers are.

Poorly soldered bus line componet connections contribute to many issues.
With Canon discontinuation of wireing diagrams ,u can't trace down to componet in question, like in the old days, guess visit time & circuit knowledgeable training adds to frustration.
