    [Electrical] IRC2380-Screen issue

    Hi,

    I am going to a IRC2380 with a blank screen, very dark, cant see any options. I havent seen this machine yet but another Tech has been there 2 times with replacement control panels/screens. These replacements were 2nd hand but were assured to be ok, he says the screens are not dark black when connected, more very dark red????

    Another 2nd hand screen is being sent to me and Ive been lumbered with the call, if this screen shows the same sympton of a very dark screen, what should I be looking at? The other tech assures he has looked at all the pins and connections, but still shows the same problem.

    tks

    tks

    Bootrom DIMM_issue ? Has been known to cause a blank display.

    Did anyone check the contrast knob\button_?

    *contrast dial on the control panel to adjust it's brightness*

      just an update, I didnt get sent back, but it turned out to be the main controller, the other tech, checked the boot rom and swapped each board at a time, starting with DC, but MC seemed to be the issue. Machine is in a very hot room, so not sure if that caused something to blow???

        good find======

        these Main Controllers on Canon products are poorly made , components are not soldered properly to bus line

        Techs need to remember, before they open back of printer and expose those PCB's -- power plug needs to be removed from outlet / also if printer is on rug> u need to eliminate any potential static charges -

        Electrostatic Discharge

        ESD can occur in a variety of forms. One of the most common is through human contact with sensitive devices. Human touch is only sensitive on ESD levels that exceed 4,000V.

        It's unlikely you can eliminate ESD completely from any site. However, experience has shown that the following guidelines are helpful:
