    [Misc] ADV5200 SERIES Environment switch

Other than the switch on the lower r/h side of the machine to turn the environment switch on for the Cassette Heaters, does anyone know if there is a Service Mode switch? As all the Units we have (in Australia) come equipped with Inbuilt Cassette Heaters and it doesn't make any difference which way the switch is, the Heaters don't get warm? There doesn't seem to be anything in the Service Manual about it & Support don't seem to have a clue either.

    Thanks in advance.
    Cliff.

    Re: ADV5200 SERIES Environment switch

You find this Info into the Service Manual:

    โ—
    Cassette Heater Control

To prevent paper in the Cassette from absorbingmoisture, this machine has a Cassette Heater at the bottom of the Cassette 2.
This heater is controlled to keep the internal temperature constant.
Wheneverthe Environment Switch is OFF, the control is always OFF.
The behaviorspecifications when the Environment Switch is ON are shown below.
When the MainPower Switch is ON
    While printing: OFF
    While in sleep mode: ON
    While in standby: ON*
    * ON if the external temperature (COPIER> DISPLAY>ANALOG> TEMP) is lower than 20 deg C, and OFF if the external temperature ishigher than 22 deg C.
When the external temperature reaches a temperaturebetween 20 deg C and 22 deg C, it remains the same as it was immediately beforethat.
    Example 1:
When the temperature rises from 15 deg C to 21 deg C Thecontrol is ON when the temperature is 15 deg C, so it remains ON when thetemperature rises to 21 deg C.
    Example2:
When the temperature lowers from 25deg C to 21 deg C The control is OFF when the temperature is 25 deg C, so itremains OFF when the temperature lowers to 21 deg C.

When the Main Power Switch is OFF
    Always ON

Thanks for the quick response disam, I will check the Manual again - it makes sense ......in a way......but I preferred it after we installed the Cassette Heaters in the earlier machines that they could be turned on/off when required.

by default the paper heaters only come on when the machine is in energy saver mode .. if you press the energy saver button and leave it for a few minute then put you hands on the heaters you will feel it heat up
