This may be caused by a poor connection on the front door switch. Try re-seating the connection at the front door open/close switch corrected the E840 code.

E840 An HP detection error has occurred in relation to the fixing inlet sensor (fixing wrap jam detection).

0000 --The home position is not detected when he sensor is moved up/down (i.e., the sensor has not gone on).

0001 --The home position is not detected when the sensor is moved up/down (i.e., the sensor has not gone off).

Disconnect and then connect J508, J552, and J553 of the DC controller PCB. Disconnect and then connect J4001 and J4002 of the fixing inlet sensor
ascent/descent motor driver PCB; as necessary, replace the fixing inlet sensor ascent/ descent motor. Replace the fixing inlet sensor ascent/descent motor driver PCB.

if paper is stuck in unit 1 frame side connector you might get a E840. If no paper is found in the connector check the connector for damage or cracks. Frame side connector assembly (FM2-5091-000).

if the front door is vibrating away from the front door open/close switch (MSW7). The door Magnet Action Catch may not be properly holding the door closed.
Try replacing the Magnet Action Catch .

The Magnet Action Catch is displayed in Figure 120, DOOR SWITCH MOUNT ASSEMBLY, Key #5, Part Number XZ9-0251-000.
