You need to locate the little micro switch that senses paper in the transport path and make sure that it is not stuck or broken or maybe has a little bit of paper stuck in it. Then make sure you power the printer down and unplug it. Re-boot your computer and then plug in and turn on the printer.

    or---------------

probably have paper dust in sensors

Clear any loose paper from the paper tray. This will help you locate the jam.
You will find it either in front, near the paper tray, or in the back, by opening the rear door.

Be sure there is no paper or debris hidden anywhere. Open up the rear door and use a flashlight to explore the inside. If you see any paper, have patience in trying to remove it, now gently pull using a side to side motion. If you use a tool for assistance, like a pair of tweezers, or pair of needle nose pliers, put some tape on the jaws of the pliers to help prevent the shredding of the paper.

Another good item to have handy is a can of compressed air.
This can be used to blow out any built up dust or fine paper particles that may be embedded inside the printer and the sensors after much use.

    Reboot your computer

Try cleaning the paper sensor and rollers

The sensor can be located by opening the front cover where the ink cartridges are. While looking inside just to the right of center manually feed a piece of paper like the printer does automatically.
You should see a thin black lever move up and down as you push the paper in and pull it out repeatedly.

This is the paper jam sensor. ANY foreign object in the way of this sensor will cause a three orange light flash indicating a paper jam.
Very hard to find without a flashlight. Another good idea would be to blow out the printer using a can of compressed air.

Clean the two Rollers Lightly dampen your lint-free cloth with water or alcohol. Squeeze it out to ensure that it's not too wet. Hold the cloth in one hand and press it lightly against the first roller. With your other hand, gently rotate the roller until you have cleaned it all the way around.
Be extremely careful. Do not use too much pressure. You might have to run it through a few times to remove all of the residue

Can be also a purge unit If you do not find nothing..In this case you can throw it in the trash.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it
