Good Day all. New to the Forum. Hope that you can help.
I own a Canon IR C2880 with a Fiery (imagepass-J1) unit which worked beautifully for many years until a couple of days ago. Issues are as follows:
1. No Service Agreement with Canon right now.
1. Can't communicate with IMAGEPASS-J1 through touch screen's Printer Tab (keeps showing "Please wait" message).
2. Can't communicate to printer through Java web server with internet browser.
3. Can't communicate to printer through Command Workstation 5 Application (OS X). Command Workstation 5 is unable to see the server with the "Connect to Server" tool.
4. When trying to print from driver (C2880-J1 Driver for OS X 10.6 and 10.10), instruction will not go through because of "Network Busy" message. Their are no print jobs on Queue on any of the computers that print with printing driver.
5. Can't PING the unit inside the network. Checked network connection (router, switch, and cable). All is working as expected.
6. Because I am unable to control the Fiery Box through the touch screen, I cannot do a proper shutdown of the Fiery. Printer shutdown procedure works as expected (only imagepass is not working).
7. IMAGEPASS-J1 has "00" on 7 segment display.
8. I don't have the software to do a service check (if possible) with laptop and imagepass - directly.
Taken measures to troubleshoot.
1. Forced Shutdown of the Fiery unit (I know that this is not good but without other choices...
)
2. Followed detailed procedures (on this site) to change the c2880 COPIER > OPTION > INT-FACE > CNT-TYPE from 3 to 0 and back to 3. Restarted the IMAGEPASS which still gives me the "00" on 7 segment display upon restart. Still not working.
What works:
1. When the CNT-TYPE is set to 0, I am able to PING the printer.
2. I am able to communicate with the printer web server. No Documents pending or on hold. Printer configuration as expected. One ERROR shown (on some computers only!!!!) that the "Internal Output Tray is Full". Nothing on the Output Tray. No Jams. Printer prints "copies" without issues.
3. Last two Prints show ERROR CODES (#099 and #852 respectively). Do take note that the printer is powered through a UPS (POWER SURGE UNIT) capable of working the printer for a couple of minutes on the event of a Power Loss. No Power Loss during use of Printer.
3. Printer SCAN to e-mail feature works as expected.
4. Printer takes COPY's and prints them.
5. Unable to Print from Driver (Different Driver used for C2880 w/out J1). Still shows "Network Busy" message. Their are no print jobs on Queue on any of the computers that print with printing driver.
What I would like to get up to this point.
To at least print without the Fiery.
