[Error Code] Image Runner C5030 Error E520-0002

Color C5030 copier displaying E520-0002.
I read description that points to Motor 4 and/or shift roller. A Canon fellow said its the Fuser rollers, or faulty motor inside fuser unit.

I am going to troubleshoot this unit next week, but I don't have a service manual to check what area or section to check.

E520 error code refers to an issue with the Shift Motor M4. The Offset Rollers were not moving correctly during machine initialization.
In a few cases, the Offset Rollers were hanging up on the Retaining Guide. Disassemble and inspect the Offset Roller Assembly 2 for any components that may be causing the rollers to bind; replace as necessary.


E520 with a sub code of 0002. This code indicates a problem with the shift motor failing to move from home position. The manual recommends checking the shift motor, M4 and the shift roller home position sensor, S2 and checking the connections to M4 and S2.


In this instance replacing the Reverse Path Guide Assembly resolved the issue. It is the item circled below. Part number FM4-5039-000.

I went today to troubleshoot.
Finisher arms is getting jammed and with combination on the stapler when its slides to the rear.
I manage to realign stapler unit, but the jogger/arms gets stuck trying to go back to home position.
I end up removing the whole finisher A1 and now, copier is working with out it.

I plan to look for an used Internal finisher A1 and replace it.

Any one have a good internal finisher on sale??
