    [Misc] ImagePress C1+ weak Yellow

    Hey guys.

A customers C1+ suddenly droped down in density of yellow.
First changed developer filling -> no change.
Then changed developer unit, and developer filling -> no change.

Strange thing besides that: When initializing Yellow, E020-0586 appears, which refers to the clear toner dev....
    Second attempt to init works.

CM and K are all good...

    Any ideas?

    Recallibrated RIP - no change.
Strange aswell: After INIT the fresh DEV, yellow gets even paler.
Yellow is now at approx 20% density, when printing PG5 with 255 dens-Y

    No one an idea?

Performing a Developer Change on the imagePRESS C1 or imagePRESS C1+/and Clear Developer. see pdf

E020 - 0586 error code is indicated after replacing Y/C/M/K starters.
This error code is referring to the Clear Toner (L) patch which is not measured at the referenced value by the patch image read sensor.

In a couple of cases, replacing the Clear Toner starter resolved the error code.

Developing BIAS Input Assembly resides on the front plate of the P-Kit.
When the Developer Units rotate and are positioned for development, the BIAS tab rubs against the Developing BIAS Input Assembly to receive the developing BIAS.
      The part number is FM2-2662-000.

        Thanks Teckat.

Wouldn't the Developing BIAS Kit, aswell as primary and secondary transfer rollers affect all colours - and not just one?

did u follow procedure on Starter Replacement ? or did u wing it ?

Yellow unit must make contact with bias tab on rotation

          Is Y Dev> receiving Y Toner

Full Area Half Tone (TYPE=5) what does that look like for Yellow

            Followed the procedure exactly.
            Checked contacts..seem fine.
Tried 2 different dev units, same result.
PG type 5 looks like 10-20% dens max, when sent with 255 value - barely visible.

How would i check if the dev recieves toner? Tape the input hole and perform SPPLY-Y, then check if there's toner on the tape?

u have any error codes in history ?
does it look like toner is on Y DEV MAG ROLLER ?
should be a rich yellow & not a washed out metallic look

                Thanks Teckat.

Programmed the DENS Values from the door, then made a few blank copies. Yellow went better and better..
Now it's all up and running again.

Seems like it was an air bubble in the toner transportation?!?

                  interesting

always shake the toner or any toner bottle bottle before placing in printer
