[Misc] IRadvc5151 - Toner bottle not fitting in

hi guys,

Ive seen several posts about toner doors not opening etc, but the customer had a replace toner message, toner door opened automatically, he replaced the magenta toner cartridge, but the machine just keeps turning the bottle and then comes up with replace toner cartridge. I visited the machine and replaced the toner cartridge with another new cartridge, when pushing the cartridge in it doesnt " click" into place, almost as if something is blocking it. When pushed in with a bit of force, the cartridge door closes and then the machine starts banging a loud noise, the toner cartridge then was stuck in the machine.

Not sure what allows the cartridge to push in fully, would it be the drive assy for the magenta? I did see a post sometime back that the gear breaks??? any help would be appreciated..

only way I can describe this is ...is a such.....get the cable/ribbon that goes round a box of paper etc double it back open a working hopper and you will see how it is correct - for the non working one fecth the cable and hook plastic thing and pull gently, this will put the 'thing' in the correct postion and will then allow insertion of toner.

we have had numerous occasion where the wrong toner was sent to client(s) and had the same issue......

Saw my boss have this happen on a set up. I think he reached in with his arm or a spring hook to push something out of the way to get bottle in. He did not take anything apart. I did not see what it was but he said another tech had this problem. There may be a way to go to the back and manually open it but I am not sure, I just saw him reach in but out of the corner of my eye so not sure what he was moving. The door opened fine but toner cartridge would not go in all the way. Sounds like you forced it. You may have to replace it. May be called spot on toner assembly? I have not had to do it yet but know it is a big job to do (dreading the day I have to do it).
