    Canon Driver Modification Tool?

    Hello All and Happy Friday!

Can someone please tell me if there is a utility available to modify an existing canon print driver. I used to have access to the CUSA esupport site and I recall seeing something similar there.

My situation is I have a cistomer who has an ir-ADV c3325 and wants to push out 2 separate versions of the driver via group policy ..... One that has all functionality and one that has the color options stripped out of it. Is this possible to do? I seem to remember seeing a tool to do this.

    Thanks,
    Mark

either use a b/w driver(either windows based driver or say for example ir3045ufr) so no option for colour at all - or use the generic driver as listed on canon website which also as default has the colour pus every other option stripped out..............

There is one. Canon Driver Configeration tool. Someone just posted about it at the CUSA website. I downloaded it because I was courious but you have to scroll to the inf file and I did not need to mess with that. They have a 32 bit and 64 bit version. Don't know how you could get it if you don't have access to the site.

OK great. I will give both of them a try. Hopefully they work with the latest ufr2 driver for the new c3325.

You want to use department ids? Just set the color limits to zero on the one driver and default it to black and white, etc. If they want full functionality switch drivers. Sounds like you are trying to re-invent the wheel when you don't need to. I do this all the time without driver config tool. Version 4 of the tool doesn't support Advance models anyway
