    [Electrical] Canon IR2530i switching off..

    Hi all,

Got a strange problem with a IR2530i, the machine keeps switching / tripping off.

The original problem was that we had grey background when scanning to email, one of my techs replaced the reader controller which resolved the issue.
two weeks later the client complains that the devices switches off.

We tried doing software/firmware but no change.

The only thing that stops the machine from switching off is if we remove connector j230 on the engine controller [lot 6], then the machine functions as it should.

Not sure if we can run the machine like this, for a long period as we are worried that by not tripping the switch to off, other boards may get affected or damaged.

Im sure i read something about this a while ago on copytechnet, but for the life of me i cant find it, please, anyone who has any info regarding this, please could you point me in the right direction.

    cheers......

Have you tried running diag boot mode when you switch on the printer? if so results?

DC Controller >J230 pin 1/2 use is (Only for the Europe Model)
connects to Power Supply PCB >
J01 pin 3/4 (used Only for the Europe Model)

no voltages listed on circuit diagram / or any explanation of use in USA Manual rev.7

in your case > if Euro model> I would check for a pinch in that harness or a continuity test on wire

        Hi Guys,,

FYI..... found some info regarding this issue, where the machine trips , (EUROPEAN MODELS ONLY) when you replace the main controller to the newer version labled a LOT6 board, apparently if you do change it you may need to change the DC Controller aswell to the newer version...... see info below....,
