    Epson Stylus Pro 9600 Misalignment

    Hello there!

I'm battling with a 9600 which misaligns the prints, mostly at the beginning (but also during the remainder of the printout).

If I make the bidirectional adjustments, the problem goes away but then comes back - all it takes is, according to the customer, to turn off and on the machine.

Cleaned the carriage encoder strip, but made no difference whatsoever.

Here are a couple of shots of an example:

Should I consider an NVRAM replacement (since it looks like the machine is losing the adjustments)? Or could there be something else at work here?

I just noticed that I can't do a K Bi-D adjustment - no matter what the value I insert, I can't get the lines to be aligned.

Even after an NVRAM init (as stated on the field service manual page 122 point 9) the machine refuses to cooperate.

Anyone ever heard of an Epson Resource CD? Have it? Care to trade?
