KM c450 Turn on controller message still a problem
Re: KM c450 Turn on controller message still a problem
Thank you Synaux. Do you think that the reason customer can copy and print but not scan is because the fiery driver is being used and that when the correct driver is installed the scanning will return? Frank

select drivers
select english language
select your operating system
et voila!
But another thing, scan to PC.....
How has it be done before?
SMB/FTP or Twain?
Today i would prefer SMB.
create a local user at the PC with the name scan and password scan
create a directory directly on C:\ with the name scan.
never use a folder in any user subdirectory like c:\users\admin\desktop\scan this will give trouble with win 7/8/10.
share this folder for your new created user "scan" with write permission and the sharename scan.
at the c450 create a new scanuser to smb.
name scan, password scan, pc-adress is the IP-Adress of pc and folder is scan.
this works in 98 percent of all my installations.
If there are problems with firewalls, domainusers etc, then go level 2
Install on pc Personal-FTP server or filezilla-server.
They are easy to config
first create a folder in c:\ with the name scan
start the ftp-server and have user control open
create the user scan with password scan.
allow this new user read and write access to the created scanfolder.
create at c450 a new scanbutton to ftp with the IP of pc, name of startfolder = scan, user = scan, password = scan.
This works also in most of all cases.
And if that works, the IT of your friendly customers are able to change names, passwords, folders etc. by themtelves.
