Bizhub C250 bad fax board?

My company recently purchased a used C250 to refurbish and resale. It has an FK-502 fax that won't respond when the fax button on the display is pressed. It is like the fax board is not even on the machine. Service manual says to replace the board but I do not have one and am wondering if there is something else that could be wrong before I start swapping boards (after I get one).

Have you confirmed that "Fax (Main)" = "Set" in service mode/system 2/option board status?

I found that info yesterday in the troubleshooting guide and it fixed the problem.
