This machine intermittently will give a C0f55 code which is a black toner level detection error. I cleaned the sensor associated with the error and it seemed to go away while I had it in my shop. I delivered it back to the customer and the error came back. Do these sensors go out. It seems like the standard photo interruptor just bigger and it doesn't appear easy to replace. Or should I just try to replace PRCB which seems much easier to do but more expensive. These machine seem to have a lot of weird problems.

The control is simple. The toner supply clutch and the sensor.
The error solution does not describe the clutch so if its broken it would be a no toner problem.
There is a lens on the IU if that is dirty and the TCR runs down i think it could happen.
Did you replace IU and toner?Whatever -

The drum was fairly new but i swapped it out with one from another machine. That took care of the problem. just to make sure I put the problem drum in another machine and the error followed the drum.Comment
