Di251 networking

I know I'm probably missing the obvious, but can anyone help?
I have a Minolta Di251, a Vista Business based PC, and a 4 port modem router. How do I get them to talk to each other? My limited networking experience is of no use to me here. Any ideas?

PS. This machine has been on a network elsewhere, so I know it can be done.

The print controller(PI3502) has been installed?
