Machine good use a good clean up too and by doing that I would inspect the bushings of the upper and lower synchro rollers. Bet that they are gummed up.

BTW, no need to replace the synchro clutch. Just blow it out with air, than flush it with brake cleaner or the like and blow it dry with air again.
